“Being Mortal” Community Event
On November 3rd, approximately 115 community members and healthcare professionals gathered for a screening and discussion of “Being Mortal,” the New York Times best-seller by Atul Gawande. This event was a collaboration between Bon Secours Health System, Inc., Richmond AgeWave, Senior Connections: The Capital Area Agency on Aging, and the VCU Department of Gerontology. The discussion was moderated by Rachel Wattman, MSW, and was led by Dr. Leanne Yanni (Medical Director/Physician for Bon Secours Palliative Care), Drew Burrichter (Director of Mission for the Bon Secours Bereavement Center) and Nathan Kottkamp (Partner in Health Law with McGuire Woods LLP).
